Alzheimer's Collection - Team Walking 4 a Cure Fundraiser

This collection is dedicated to Barbara, sister of Susan Renner, who had Alzheimer's. $10 from the sale of each shirt goes to Susan's Alzheimer's Team Walking 4 a Cure; $5 from each mug and tote bag.

Here is Susan's story:

"In 2019, I lost my only sister, Barbara, to Alzheimer's but I was inspired to start my Walk team in 2016 when I learned about the effects dementia and Alzheimer’s can have on a family. For 2 years I didn’t see my sister because of Alzheimer’s and the secrets and devastation it brought to our family. So, precious time was lost that I could have spent with her. Don’t let that happen in your family. When I learned my sister was sick, we should have all been honest and stood together. At first, we didn’t do so because Alzheimer's and dementia are scary and misunderstood. In time we healed our relationship and if you find yourself in a similar situation work to provide support for the caregiver and the ALZ sufferer positive. I honor both my brother-in-law and my sister for doing all they could to survive this horrible disease together.

The Walk to End Alzheimer's means Hope for a cure, new medications, and money for continued research. Over 6 million Americans suffer with some form of Alzheimer’s or dementia. We must find a cure! The Walk also means a chance to Never Forget those we have lost to ALZ. I now carry a Purple Flower, which in the Alzheimer's Promise Garden means I have lost someone to Alzheimer's. I dream of day to have a chance to carry a White Flower - representing that the first person will have been cured! Imagine a world without Alzheimer’s!"
